Saturday, November 1st, 3:00pm: L'Cafe Tully's Coffee at 9th and Broadway in Tacoma (map). The numbers are growing as this group meets for coffee and conversation at Tully’s which is easy to find, has lots of parking and is a comfortable space for relaxing on a lazy weekend afternoon. Sunday, November 2nd: Movie and discussion at the Grand Cinema 606 S. Fawcett Ave. in Tacoma. Are you a movie buff? To find out which movie and show time, call Cheryl D. at 253-565-6765.The group that gathers will then decide where to go for a post-movie meal and discussion. All members are ALWAYS welcome and encouraged to attend Board meetings. Find out what goes on behind the scenes. Thursday, November 13th, 6:30pm: Birthday Dinner Out Katie Downs at 3211 Ruston Way in Tacoma (map). Our monthly birthday dinner is a way to celebrate our advancing age, get out of the kitchen, let someone else do the dishes and have some fun at the same time. A small but enthusiastic bunch met on Sunday, October 19, at Cheryl D's for the launch of the TLC book group. For November, the group chose to read Jane Smiley's 1991 Pulitzer prize-winning novel A Thousand Acres. It's a nearly flawless and hauntingly beautiful book that's bound to generate a good discussion. We hope you can join that discussion on Sunday, November 16, at 2:00 at Virginia H's in Auburn. Game starts at 7:00 sharp! Bunko is a fun, easy, silly dice game that gives you a great chance to catch up with folks you haven’t seen in a while and to meet new friends who have recently joined TLC. Call Cheryl at 253-307-7955 by Saturday morning to reserve your pot and to get directions to Pam’s home. Remember to bring a snack to share and your own drink. Cost is $5.00 per person. Remember, if you host Bunko you don’t pay to play and you can turn in your receipts for the Bunko Bag and get reimbursed for the cost. Will you be our next host?
